Ten years. It’s really been ten years since that day in Daejeon, the day that changed both our lives. The day I wrote Bangsiri’s name in the snow and Ms. Jung corrected my spelling. The day we all went to E-Mart together and I bought a pink-and-white carrier for her, and I took her home.
Bangsiri spent the first night in my bathroom because I was “just fostering,” and I didn’t want her to get too attached. The next day, she had her first haircut and everyone laughed when I posted her picture online.
We had so many wonderful times together. I hope I’ll see her again someday.
