The past few years have really been an education on the aging process. I wasn’t prepared for any of this: monthly physicals, expensive medicine, having to plan other activities around specialist visits and medication schedules. There have been times when Bangsiri’s illness felt like a burden.
But I know I’ve been very lucky. Weak hearts and bad teeth are common in tiny dogs once they reach Bangsiri’s age—I should have expected these changes. It’s just luck that I’ve been able to manage her condition so well with the help of some wonderful vets.
I wasn’t ready and I didn’t know what I was getting into, but I’m glad Bangsiri chose me as her best friend. Happy Chuseok to you and your furbabies.
